The CMT Panoramic and Complex Motion Tomography machine enables Dr. Wiggins to see the structures of the skull much like a CT Scan would show.
Evaluation of the TMJ is critical in the treatment of TMD disorders, orthodontic repositioning, full mouth reconstruction and fabrication of oral appliances for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea. Views from the front and the sides of the joint are taken to evaluate its size and symmetry, and its relationship to the base of the skull.
Evaluation of the nasal passage in radiographic form as a paranasal sinus tomogram is used when evaluating the airway for use of oral appliances for treatment of obstructive sleep apnea and snoring.
Static images are also used for evaluation of the skull when considering full mouth reconstruction and orthodontics.
