I wear two hats in this office – as the Financial Coordinator, I am responsible for insurance prior authorizations, claim payments, and any processing issues that may occur, as well as communication with patients regarding their financial responsibility for large or complex cases. As the Medical Coordinator, I am responsible for handling medical patient intake, and our current sleep apnea and TMJ continuing care.
I am the Patient Care Coordinator in our front office. My role heavily revolves around communication with our patient base regarding treatment and scheduling. I am essentially the doctor’s liaison between herself and her patients. I enjoy building relationships with our patients and helping them achieve their smile goals.
I am the first bright and smiling face to welcome new patients into our practice by conducting full initial intakes and presenting our office procedures. I am responsible for making sure that insurance policy details are up to date and accurate and answering patient’s questions regarding their policy coverage. I also represent our hygiene department by handling the scheduling and our patients continuing care needs.
In addition to assisting Dr. Wiggins with basic restorations, I am the head orthodontic assistant. I am responsible for clinical communication with patients during their orthodontic treatment and making sure that our patients understand the process and are comfortable with the treatment whether they are a child with crowding issues or an adult who wants to improve their smile. I am with our patients for the whole process, and I love watching their smiles transform.
You may not see me around the office frequently – except as a quick glimpse of brightly colored scrubs – but my role here is what makes our office run so efficiently. I am responsible for all the equipment in the office, including setting up the tools and materials that Dr. Wiggins uses during procedures and making sure that they are sterilized properly between every patient, giving each patient a safe and comfortable visit.
I am the senior hygienist in our practice. In addition to taking care of our patients’ basic hygiene needs, I am the clinical coordinator for our Perio 360 Therapy Program – a comprehensive and sustainable periodontal (gum) health system. We adopted this program in 2019, and in correlation with extensive continuing education by me and our clinical staff, our patients are able to regain and sustain healthy gums.
